Bisexual Boyfriend

Share

Dear Frankly,

My boyfriend, who I have been dating for three years, has just told me that he is bisexual. He said that he has never told anyone else and has hidden it from me until now. I cried for a week. I have many self-esteem problems already. He also said that if he were in my shoes, he would probably end the relationship. However, he’s glad I haven’t ended it and promises to be true. I am so confused with no one to talk to. What should I do?

Confounded Connie

Dear Confounded,

Well, if that doesn’t beat all. My fourth husband had a wandering eye for young men. I used to think he was a sports nut, but then I started wondering if maybe he just liked well-tuned men in shorts. Keep a close eye on your guy. He, too, could be an athletic supporter.

Dear Frankly,

Our daughter of 18 has recently met a 28-year-old man. At first, I thought it was friendship, but recently we discovered it is more. My husband and I told her that the relationship was unacceptable. He is too old. He is divorced with a 5-year-old boy. Our daughter is torn because she knows that we’re upset about this. She says that she will never be happy because we will not accept this, yet she continues to see him. What to do?

Meddling Mother

Dear Meddling,

You appear angry that your daughter has found love. If you can’t come to terms with her decision, you will lose her for sure. Ten years is not that big a difference, especially when you’re in your senior years. Let nature run its course. It helps if he has plenty of life insurance.
